Itinerary

01

Day 1

Our adventure begins early with a pick-up at your hostel and after a friendly welcome from your Moose driver we head down the Trans-Canada Highway toward Montreal. Our first stop is at the Big Apple where they have made over 3 million apples pies. Next is a lunch stop and a cruise through the 1000 Islands, located in the St Lawrence River between Canada and the USA. We arrive in Montreal in the early evening and you should join our guide for a night out on the town! (1000 Islands cruise included)

Day 2

This morning we explore Montreal the city of festivals. Join the Moose guide and see the cafes, bars and restaurants in the largest French speaking city outside of Europe. Or if you prefer, travel on your own through this amazing city. (Breakfast included)

Day 3

Today we travel to Quebec City. Along the route we visit Mauricie Park and Montmorency Falls, a spectacular waterfall that is actually higher than Niagara Falls! From here we continue to Quebec City, the largest walled city in North America. You have free time to stroll along the cobblestone streets and enjoy outdoor cafes, street musicians, local art and best of all the fine food! Group dinner tonight at the hostel. (Breakfast and dinner included).

Day 4

Take some free time today in Quebec City! We suggest you explore the old city on foot and don`t forget your camera! If you want to do a fun activity today, you have the option for $99 to do our Whale watching excursion to a small French Village, Tadoussac.

Day 5

We’ll be up bright and early this morning as we journey to Mont Tremblant, a beautiful ski village located in the Laurentian Mountains. Our lunch stop today is Mont Tremblant National Park where we will enjoy some beautiful scenery during our hike. We’ll stop at the ski village in Mont Tremblant then arrive at the hostel and have a swim or canoe before our group dinner. Tonight we will enjoy some stories and laughs around a campfire by the lake. (Dinner included)

Day 6

This morning we hit the road through spectacular Laurentian hills towards Ottawa, the capital of Canada. First we stop we visit Omega Park for a close up look at wildlife including deer, bear, moose and more, you can even feed the animals! Once we arrive in Ottawa and check into the hostel (a former jail) we take a walking tour of the city and historic Parliament Hill. Afterward we head out for a few drinks and dinner in the Byward Market! (Omega Park included).

Day 7

Enjoy breakfast at the hostel and some free time in the morning to continue exploring our nation’s capital. We depart in the afternoon for Fort Coulonge. It is a beautiful drive along the river and we arrive at Esprit lodge in the early evening. Dinner tonight is a barbeque feast of salmon, steak or chicken and a vegetarian option is also available. If you choose to raft the next day ($115 including lunch) you are in good hands! The Esprit team was voted one of top rafting companies in the world by National Geographic! Join us at the campfire tonight and meet your rafting guides!! (Breakfast and dinner included)

Day 8

If you are rafting, today is an early start at 7:30 am. We take a short ride to the departure point and spend the day on the river, rafting or river-boarding. If you decide to stay at the lodge you can swim, canoe, hike or go mountain bike riding. At the end of the day, we come back to the lodge and settle down to another great meal and relax on the patio and watch the amazing sunset with a cold beverage. (Breakfast and dinner included, lunch included if you are rafting).

Day 9

After breakfast we hit the road back to Toronto, with a lunch stop at Bon Echo Provincial Park (famous for Bon Echo Rock and some of the finest northern beaches). We arrive back to Toronto at approximately 6pm. Check into the hostel and you can meet your driver later for drinks, or explore the city on your own. (Breakfast included)

Day 10

Today we’re heading north along Hwy 400 towards cottage country. We first make an obligatory stop at Tim Horton’s for coffee and donuts. We then stop for a picnic lunch along the way, and climb the Dorset Scenic Fire Tower for some breath-taking views. After lunch we will canoe part of the Oxtongue River toward beautiful Ragged Falls. Make sure to bring your bathing suits as there will be plenty of opportunity to take a dip. Then we will continue our drive through the park and check into our cottage accommodations on the river. This evening we’ll have a group dinner and relax by the campfire. (Dinner included)

Day 11

After breakfast, we will head back into the park. Our first stop will be the visitor’s centre where you can explore the exhibits and learn all about the history of one of Canada’s largest National Parks! We will then enjoy a beautiful hike where we will have a picnic lunch at the top of a mountain and enjoy a swim in a lake. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a BBQ dinner and s’mores (a delicious Canadian treat) at the campfire. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 12

Today, we head back to Toronto with a lunch stop at Silent Lake Provincial Park. We’ll arrive back in Toronto around 6:00 pm. (Breakfast included)

      Over the course of the 12 days, you`ll be staying in shared dorm facilities in some of the East`s most cracking backpackers! As dorms are booked along the way, you`ll find you`ll be staying in mixed dorms on some nights with the luxury of ensuite bathrooms....and some nights where you`ll have to tip toe down the hallway and make use of shared bathroom facilities. Each of the lodgings are unique and dorm specifications cannot be confirmed prior to departure!
