We start travelling along the St Lawrence seaway to Montreal, City of Festivals and the largest French speaking city outside of Europe. Tonight we explore the vibrant nightlife.
Today we have free time to explore the beautiful city of Montreal including Mont Royal, the Old City, boutiques, Cathedrals and the cafes and bars. Bring your French dictionary to practise your language skills!
Our journey eastward continues as we cross to the southern shore of the St Lawrence and continue to our overnight destination of Riviere du Loup or “Wolf River”. Our journey takes us along spectacular vistas through small French speaking towns that were founded by Basques fishermen from France over 350 years ago. The St Lawrence River changes from fresh to salt water in this area so watch for seals and other marine animals.
We cross from Quebec into new Brunswick - the only officially bilingual province in Canada so you can still practise your French language skills! This is the homeland of the Acadians - a warm a friendly people with a proud history and rich culture. Today we visit the famous Flower Pot Rocks formation in the Bay of Fundy!
This morning we start towards the world famous Bay of Fundy, travelling through the Annapolis Valley . Tonight we spend in the special town of Digby a beautiful east coast town you will never forget.
We are going to spend the day exploring this spectacular region including a clam dig on the beach (voted best activity in 2010) and visiting the Digby neck. Tonight another peaceful evening in the east coast fishing town.
Today our tour takes us towards Halifax - the capital of Nova Scotia. Along the way we visit Kejimkujik Park for a hike. Tonight we spend in Halifax!
Today we have lots of free time to explore the museums, cafes, bars and boutique shops of Halifax. There is plenty to see and do in this maritime city. Later this afternoon we’ll go for a tour of the Alexander Keith’s - the oldest brewery in Canada. Then we can head out for a group dinner at a local pub!
Today we head towards the incredible region known as the Cape Breton Highlands--home to Canada`s Scottish heritage. We will have several photo stops en-route, plus a hike where we will look for Moose!. Tonight we stay in a lovely hostel located on the Cape Breton road
You’ll have the opportunity to do an amazing whale watching tour this morning ($50) where you will see Minke and Humpback whales and sometimes dolphins and seals! After the cruise, we will visit some beautiful areas of the park including MacIntosh Brook and Black Brook beach. Back to our hostel tonight for a warming campfire on the beach under the stars!
Today we continue to explore the Cape Breton region. We will make more photo stops, plus a stop for an amazing whale watching tour and an easy hike up the Skyline Ridge where the views are spectacular! Tonight we spend beside the lake.
We continue our exploration of the Cape Breton area including a restful (and fun) stop for a swim at the beach. Lots of time today for resting and relaxation. Tonight we stay again at Bear on the Lake.

We start back into New Brunswick today across the Confederation Bridge (13kms long) and take a Lobster Boat cruise (with fresh lobster dinner) as well as a tour of Hopewell Rocks - an amazing area in the Bay of Fundy.
Today we start back towards Quebec City. We have a long drive today, but the destination is well worth the effort. Quebec City is the only walled city in North America and a spectacular place - you will love it! Tonight we can enjoy some great French cuisine - bon appetit!
It’s another day of wandering the narrow walkways, cobblestone streets, boutiques, museums and cafes. Try some poutine or crepes to get a taste of the local flavour! Tonight we can visit a local bar for some live music!
