If you have time we suggest you drop into our Retail Shop, located on the corner of Grafton & Shields Streets, to arrange your dive equipment for the trip, as we do not keep any gear on the boats! The shop is open every day until 7.00pm.
You can learn about the reef and fish you will meet by visiting ‘Reef Teach’ a 2.5hr Marine Biology Presentation. It is located on the 2nd floor of the Mainstreet Arcade at 85 Lake Street. This is an additional cost and not available on Sunday and Monday nights.
Diving the Outer Great Barrier Reef
Dive 1 & 2 Two pleasure dives to give you an introduction to diving on the Great Barrier Reef. This is also a great opportunity for you to acclimatize to the diving conditions, fine tune your skills or even to refresh your skills if it has been some time since your last dive.
Dive 3 Navigation Dive - After revising your knowledge review, your instructor will brief you on your navigation dive where you will complete some exercises using both compass and natural references to help improve your underwater navigation skills.
Dive 4 Night Dive - Here you will be introduced to night diving on the Great Barrier Reef. You will complete a simple navigation exercise before being given a guided tour with your instructor. During your night dive you can expect to find sleeping turtles, parrot fish and a variety of other marine life only encountered at night.

Day 2

Experience further fantastic diving on the Outer Great Barrier Reef
Dive 1 Deep Dive - During this dive we will give you the experience to safely conduct dives beyond your 18 metre depth limit as an open water diver. Under the close supervision of your dive instructor you will be taken down to 30metres, where you will be tested for signs of nitrogen narcosis, shown the effects of increased pressure and colour absorption at depth.
Dive 2,3 & 4 With your three core training dives now completed, you have today and tomorrow remaining for pleasure dives and to complete the last 2 dives of your Advanced training dives, all designed to introduce you to other interesting areas of diving which you may wish to learn more about. Tour Highlights:
    • Milln Reef offers a number of exciting dive sites such as Whale Bommie, Petaj Mooring, Swimming Pools I, Swimming Pools II and Three Sisters to name a few. Milln reef offers excellent wall dives and swim throughs and is great for night diving. A great site to dive at night where you can expect to see sleeping turtles, reef crabs, painted lobsters and some great soft corals, gorgonian fans.
    • Flynn Reef is one of our most popular reefs to dive and will offer the novice to the very experienced diver plenty of memorable dives. We have moorings at a number of the well known dive sites at Flynn reef such as Tracy`s Bommie, Gordon`s Mooring, Tennis Courts & Coral Gardens. These sites offer you excellent wall dives, swim-throughs, overhangs and night diving. Expect to see an abundance of marine life combined with plenty of hard corals such as staghorn, table, plate and boulder coral heads and many species of soft corals.
    • Pellowe Reef is a very exciting dive site! A small isolated reef located close to the edge of the continental shelf. For this reason access to the reef is very weather and tidal dependent. The reef drops away very quickly at places to 30 metres and stronger currents can be present as well. Being closer to the shelf large pelagic fish can be sighted along with the more regular sightings of schools of chevron barracuda, numerous sea cucumbers and nudibranchs.
    • Thetford Reef is made up of numerous coral bommies where you can experience some very exciting wall dives and many swim throughs. This reef is home to many soft and hard corals like staghorn and plate coral and an abundance of marine life. Look for the giant clams, butterfly fish, damsels and angelfish. Access to the reef is very weather and tidal dependent.
