Day 1

This morning after a hearty breakfast, you`ll be picked up from your hotel by your local guide between 09:00 - 09:30am. Meet and greet the others sharing your journey as you all set off by road to the Golden Triangle region. Stop along the way at Orchid Farm and Butterfly Farm, it’s another exotic place to visit in Chiang Mai and continue to explore the five interconnected Chiang Dao Caves.
After lunch we explore the five interconnected Chiang Dao Caves.
The climax of today`s journey is the charming, small town of Doi Mae Salong, where the atmosphere is reminiscent of a small Southern Chinese village. The region is famous for its Chinese tea traders and you can enjoy a well-earned cup of tea in a traditional Chinese tea house overlooking the misted mountains. In the late afternoon there is time to explore the markets, jam-packed full of produce and crafts made by hilltribe people.
Tonight`s accommodation is in a tourist class hotel in Mae Salong.


Day 2

After another scrumptious breakfast , take a stop near the Burmese border at Mae Sai, the northernmost town in Thailand. This is a well known trading post where you`ll find Burmese lacquer ware, gems, jade and other precious goods from Laos and Burma.
The tour continues on to the region known as the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos meet. Enjoy lunch overlooking the mighty Mekong River and then visit the fascinating Opium museum! Then, climb aboard a `long tail` boat and travel on the Khong River to the old city of Chiang Saen, the ancient capital of the Lanna Kingdom.
On the way there is a chance to step a sneaky foot in Laos. This stopping point is famous for the local rice whiskey sold from distilleries on the banks of river. Tonight`s overnight stay will be in Chiang Rai Town.

Day 3

Make sure you down a full brekkie this morning! It`s an early departure on the return journey to Chiang Mai, stopping on the way at Wat Pra Kaew, and Mae Ka Chan hot spring. Here you have the refreshing chance to take a relaxing soak, and/or enjoy a foot massage `fish spa style`, whilst munching on quail eggs which have been cooked in the heat of the waters! Your Golden Triangle adventures ends back in Chiang Mai at approximately 5.00pm, when you`re free again to wander the magnificent streets of this intriguing city!
