2 day 1 night Maxi Sailing

Fast, action packed adventure! For guests who want to be involved, they can help set the sails, have a turn on the wheel and get some awesome sailing photos. The Captain and crew will provide interpretive information on the Whitsunday Islands and the Marine Park. The itinerary will cover a great distance around the islands and is achieved due to the sailing performance and ability of a Maxi Yacht. Maxi yachts also are even more ‘eco-friendly’ as they use wind power as much as is possible. Maxi yachts offer guests plenty of space (did you know that 2 London Red Buses could fit end to end on the deck of our Maxis!) Make friends with the other travellers and maybe enjoy a party in the evenings. Great if the guest is tighter on time.

Day 1

The following itinerary is an example of a scheduled cruise. All cruises are subject to weather and tidal conditions and the Captain’s professional judgement in putting together the best itinerary to keep guests happy, safe and well.
Meet your crew at Abell Point Marina at 8am for a head count, to depart the marina at 8:30am. Feeling energized? Help hoist the sails! Otherwise, sit back and relax as you float across the Whitsunday Passage to Whitsunday Island, finding anchorage at Tongue Bay. Take a guided bush walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout to the view of Whitehaven Beach before heading down and spending an hour or two exploring. In the afternoon you’ll sail north to another island where you’ll anchor just before sunset. After dinner, grab a drink and enjoy the evening.

Day 2

Early rise for breakfast, and kit up with snorkelling gear, ready to jump in over the fringing coral reefs to see the fish and coral. Time for morning tea before heading to another location for a swim, snorkel or a beach stop. After lunch, it is time to set the sails once again and make way across the Whitsunday Passage. Arrive back into Airlie Beach at 4pm.
