Day 1: Las Vegas

No words that you read here can truly do Las Vegas justice; you simply have to experience it for yourself. It's a world-famous hotspot for wild partying, a forest of flashing neon and pumping music, home of epic roller coasters, and a treasure trove of quality restaurants and massive shops. Your tour starts at 18:00 with a welcome meeting at the hotel bell desk (map in the Trek tips), but in the meantime, soak up Sin City!

Day 2-3: Grand Canyon National Park

The ultimate showstopper! The mighty Grand Canyon National Park is a true bucket list sight, and you’ll get your first taste of how overwhelmingly vast it truly is. Hike the Bright Angel Trail to Indian Gardens, or Plateau Point for a view from deep in the canyon; from sunrise to sunset this incredible national park is mind blowing. Whichever route you decide to take, the views will leave you speechless. But, if you really want to be blown away, jump on an optional helicopter ride and view the canyon from above - there really is no experience like it.

Optional Activities:

  • Helicopter flight US$254-$284
  • IMAX Theater US$15

Day 4: Monument Valley

Red rock vistas are next on the agenda, with Monument Valley your first stop! You'll no doubt have seen a million photographs of this stunning place, but there's nothing quite like seeing it with your own two eyes. Towering buttes and mesas can be seen for miles and set against the red desert, they really are striking. Immerse yourself in the native culture on an included guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and backroads, hear your hosts speak in their native tongue and be blown away by their hospitality.

Meals Included: Breakfast included

Day 5: Santa Fe

With 325 days of sunshine per year plus some of the best Mexican food in the USA sound, Santa Fe is the perfect spot to take a breather. Pay a visit to Canyon Road, home to art galleries, cultural treasures such as hand-woven Navajo rugs, historic adobe buildings and a vibrant restaurant scene. Make sure you grab yourself a burrito at Bumble Bee’s and head on out in the evening to sample some of the Santa Fe nightlife.

Meals Included: Breakfast included

Day 6: Amarillo

Yep, this IS the way to Amarillo! Embrace your inner artist at Texas talking point Cadillac Ranch – where you’ll find a line of Cadillacs half buried in the desert sands. Grab a can of spray paint and make your mark on this famous installation – it’s okay, it’s allowed! - before heading back on the road to experience the rolling hills and grasslands of true Texan countryside.

Meals Included: Breakfast included

Day 7-8: Austin

If you like your cities on the eccentric side, Austin’s the one for you. With a motto of ‘Keep Austin Weird’, we bet you’re excited already! The city is full of quirky charm – from coffee shops to independent boutiques, it’s worth taking some time to get to know the state capital of Texas.
